The company offered UK banking, loan and insurance facilities.

The Challenge

It took a skilled data analyst 1.5 days of time to provide a monthly report for every business unit in the UK. The data was generally available by Day 3. The analyst’s workload meant that the reports were not available until Day 10 after month end. The reports were then manually emailed to 132 recipients each month.

Could we suggest a way of speeding up the work so that it was delivered earlier?

The Solution

We wrote a bespoke standalone computer program that could accept digital data files, provided the analysis and separated it into the 64 business areas. 

All the time consuming parts of this report were automated as well as the email which was generated within the program and was achieved by pressing one button. Report distribution was automated by code and one button click. This led to managers receiving their reports in pdf format on Day 4 after month end.

The Result

The fully automated program, calculated, emailed and delivered the reports to the recipients 6 days quicker ensuring that remedial action took take place in the first week of the new month.
